I was born and raised in Caracas in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods, like 23 de Enero once was. My neighborhood became famous for gangs dedicated to drug trafficking, which brought a lot of violence, shootings, deaths, and everything that somehow marked all of us who were part of the environment and made us stronger in the end.
Everything is said about Caracas, mainly everything bad. I won’t invest my time in that because there is already a lot of material on the internet, and that’s why I had the idea of writing an article about the good, interesting, and new things that can be done in my city for weeks. Many of my clients want to avoid Caracas, and when they dare to come, they are fascinated by the green color of the Waraira Repano National Park, its streets, buildings, restaurants, parks, the friendliness of the people, being so eclectic and diverse, and by the hundreds of Yellow and Blue Macaws flying throughout the city.
Enjoy this article that still doesn’t have the 101 things to do in Caracas; I will gradually add, improve, and update this post.
Thank you for reading me!

Must visit places in Caracas
In no particular order, here is our list of Must visit places in Caracas! I will be updating almost everyday.
Esfera Caracas
Esfera Caracas (Caracas Sphere) is a kinetic art sculpture by Venezuelan artist Jesús Soto, inaugurated in December 1996 as part of the “Un Cariño para mi Ciudad” program. This sculpture is located on the south slope of the Santa Cecilia distributor of the Francisco Fajardo highway and has become one of the cultural icons of the Venezuelan capital.
This work represents Soto’s conception of kinetic art integrated into the urban environment, through lighting and color. The sphere is composed of 1,800 hollow aluminum rods of ¾ inch, joined by 2.5 millimeter thick stainless steel cables. They are suspended on a 12-meter high metal portal structure, on a reinforced concrete base.
The combination of orange-colored rods creates the visual effect of a floating sphere in the air, and the contrasting light gives it a sense of movement. The sculpture offers a constantly changing view for passers-by who circulate on the highway. The Caracas Sphere is Jesús Soto’s most outstanding work and an important symbol of contemporary Venezuelan art.
