Trek to Roraima 8 days & 7 nights

Roraima will really impress you and will demand effort to reach the top of The Lost World On our 8-day trek, we will reach the unique “Punto Triple,” where Brazil, Venezuela, and Guyana converge. We will also visit the secluded Gladys Lake and “La Proa,” two of Mount Roraima’s most iconic landmarks. This expedition is quite a thrill.

Day 1. Parai Tepui – Tek River

We will depart very early in the morning at 8:00 AM. The journey begins in a 4×4 vehicle from Santa Elena de Uairén, lasting approximately 2 hours: one hour on a paved road to the park entrance in San Francisco de Yuruani, and another hour on a dirt road to the community of Paraitepuy. There, we will register with the park rangers. We will then hike 13.5 km for about 4 hours to the first camp, which could be Río Tek or Kukenan. We will spend the night there and have dinner (L,D).

Day 2. Tek River- Base camp

We will start the day with a hot coffee while we prepare our backpacks. After breakfast, we will set off before 8:00 AM. We will hike 7 km for about 4 hours. This day marks the start of the ascent, so the trail will become more challenging. Upon arrival at the base camp, we will have lunch and rest. Along the way, we will take breaks for a snack. We will spend the afternoon and night at the base camp. (All meals).

Day 3. Base camp to the top!

After breakfast, we will depart at 8:30 AM. This will be the most difficult ascent day as we navigate along the Roraima wall. We will take a snack break halfway through the climb. We aim to reach the top before 2:00 PM, where we will have lunch. In the evening, we will hike to the highest point of Roraima, called Maverick, at 2810 meters above sea level. There, we will take photos before returning to the camp for dinner. We will remain at this camp for 3 nights. (All meals)

Day 4. Roraima Mountain Top

We will pack up the camp and head to Hotel Coatí, located on the Brazilian side of Roraima. During the hike, we will stop to photograph the rock formations created by erosion. This segment will take about 4 hours. Upon arrival, we will have lunch, take a bath, and do a short exploration. Highlights of the day include visiting Punto Triple, Valle de los Cristales, Lago Coatí, and Mirador Roraiminha, among others.

Day 5. Roraima Top – Tek River

We will wake up at 7:30 AM, have breakfast, and depart for Lago Gladys, the Northern Jacuzzis, Río de Oro, Pozo de los Enamorados, and La Proa. On our return, we will take a bath in Río de Oro or the Jacuzzis, where we will also have lunch and relax. Later, we will return to the camp for dinner. (All Meals)

Day 6. Roraima top -Tek River-

We will wake up early to enjoy the sunrise at Mirador Roraiminha, where we will have breakfast. Then, we will return to camp to pack our backpacks and begin the descent to the base of the mountain, known as Tope. We will arrive at Hotel Guácharo camp. If time allows, we will visit the cave with the same name.

Day 7. Tek River-Santa Elena de Uairen

After breakfast, we will begin the descent to Río Tek, which will take about 7 hours of hiking. We will have lunch at the base camp and dinner upon arrival at Camp Tek.

Day 8. Tek River-Santa Elena de Uairen

The last day of the tour. We will wake up at 5:00 AM to pack and have breakfast before departing at 6:00 AM toward the community of Paraitepuy. A 4×4 vehicle will be waiting for us there with refreshments. We will arrive in Santa Elena around 3:00 PM.
